Sturgill Adoption

"An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet regardless of time, place or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle but will never break." --Ancient Chinese Belief. ---In November 2003, we began our paperwork to adopt our daughter, Karen LinFuQin from the People's Republic of China. This blog was begun to document our red thread to our adorable little girl.

Update about Travel

We are constantly being asked by family, friends and coworkers when will we go to China. Right now, we wait for our travel notice. We have to have a consulate appointment date set before the Chinese government will invited us to China. The time frame for all this to happen is usually anywhere from 5 to 8 weeks. We could be traveling in early or middle September. We just don't know much right now.

In the meantime, we continue with our lives. Bryan has started school. He is in the third grade this year. We are pleased with how well he is doing in school. He likes his new teacher and the class is a good mix of personalities. David and I continue to work. We are preparing for the trip; trying to pack, make sure we don't forget something. We are researching and reading all we can about China and talking with other friends who have gone to China before us. We have a large community of friends who have adopted Chinese children. We are blessed in that respect. We continue to be happy knowing that soon Karen will be with us and the wait will be only a memory. September is closing in on us with great speed.

Take care everyone
